1614727399 Oil Filter Fit Atlas Copco Air Compressor

1614727399 The main function of the air compressor oil filter:

1. Filter impurities and purify lubricating oil

Intercept solid particles: Capture metal debris (such as from rotor and bearing wear) generated during the lubricating oil circulation, dust (entering from system gaps), carbon deposits (products of oil oxidation at high temperatures), etc. These particles should not be allowed to enter the friction surfaces (such as screw meshing surfaces, bearing raceways).

Absorb gums and moisture: Some filter materials (such as resin-impregnated filter paper, activated carbon composite layer) can adsorb gums and asphaltene produced by oil oxidation, as well as moisture that enters due to condensation or poor sealing, preventing the deterioration of the oil quality.

2. Protect core components and reduce wear

The precise components inside the compressor (such as rotors, bearings, gears) rely on lubricating oil to form an oil film to isolate the friction surfaces. If the oil contains impurities, it will act like "sandpaper", intensifying the wear of the components, causing increased clearance, decreased efficiency, and even malfunctions such as jamming and abnormal noise.

The oil filter removes particles larger than 5 microns (some high-precision filters can filter impurities smaller than 3 microns), significantly reducing the risk of such wear and extending the service life of core components such as the main unit and bearings.

3. Maintain the efficiency of the lubrication system

Clean lubricating oil has better fluidity and can reach the lubrication points more quickly, ensuring a uniform and stable oil film and avoiding insufficient lubrication in certain areas due to impurity blockage (such as oil channels, nozzles). This reduces the "catalytic deterioration" effect of impurities on the lubricating oil itself (impurities accelerate the oxidation and decomposition of the oil), indirectly prolonging the replacement cycle of the lubricating oil and reducing maintenance costs.

4. Ensure stable system pressure

The bypass valve built into the oil filter is an important safety design: When the filter element becomes clogged and the filtration resistance exceeds the set value (usually 0.3-0.5 MPa), the bypass valve automatically opens to ensure that the lubricating oil continues to circulate, preventing sudden equipment shutdown or burnout due to oil interruption.
