1615639800 Atlas Copco Oil Filter Base Air Compressor Parts

The base of the oil filter for Atlas Copco air compressors - 1. Structure and Function

Core structure: Usually a metal casting (mostly aluminum alloy or cast iron), integrating the oil inlet, oil outlet, installation interface and sealing surface. Some bases also have a bypass valve (when the filter element is clogged, the bypass valve opens to ensure that the lubricating oil circulates around the filter element and continues to flow, preventing the main unit from being damaged due to lack of oil). Main function:

Fix the oil filter and ensure that the filter element is securely installed in the vibration environment of the unit to prevent loosening and oil leakage.

Guide the lubricating oil to enter the filter from the main oil passage of the machine (before filtration), and then send the filtered clean oil back to the main bearings, rotors, etc. of the machine (after filtration), forming a complete lubrication circuit.

Through the sealing design (with O-ring or sealing gasket), prevent the lubricating oil from leaking during the flow process, ensuring stable system pressure.

II. Adaptation and Characteristics

Customize for the oil circuit layout and filter specifications (diameter, interface thread) of different series of air compressors (such as GA, ZR, ZT, etc.), ensuring precise connection with the oil filter and the main oil circuit.

The material has certain oil resistance and mechanical strength, capable of withstanding the long-term soaking of lubricating oil and the torque during installation, and adapting to temperature changes during machine operation (-10 to 120℃).

III. Common Problems and Maintenance

Leakage Fault: Wear of the sealing surface between the base and the filter, aging of the O-ring, or cracks in the base itself, can all lead to oil leakage. Check the condition of the sealing parts and replace the base if necessary.

Blockage or poor flow: If the oil passage inside the base is clogged due to impurity deposition or casting defects (such as uncleaned burrs), it will cause insufficient lubricating oil flow. Disassemble and clean or replace the base.

Installation Attention: When replacing the oil filter, clean the sealing surface of the base, check for scratches or deformation; when installing the new filter, tighten it according to the specified torque (usually 20-30 N·m), avoiding over-tightening which damages the base thread or under-tightening which leads to leakage.
