The main functions of Atlas Copco air compressor intake valves
Intake control: Adjust the amount of air entering the compressor according to the working pressure requirements of the air compressor. When the system pressure reaches the set value, the intake valve closes or reduces its opening, stopping or reducing the intake; when the pressure is lower than the set value, the intake valve opens, allowing air to enter.
Unloading and loading: In the unloaded state of the air compressor, the intake valve is closed, keeping the compressor in idle mode to reduce energy consumption; when loading, the intake valve is opened to allow the compressor to compress air normally.
Preventing backflow: Some intake valves are equipped with backflow prevention functions to prevent the compressed air from flowing back into the intake system, ensuring the effectiveness of the compression process.
Common types
Diaphragm valve type intake valve: The structure is relatively simple. The intake volume is controlled by the rotation of the diaphragm plate. It is suitable for small and medium-sized air compressors.
Piston type intake valve: The valve is opened and closed by the movement of the piston, with good sealing performance. It is often used in situations where high precision of intake control is required.
Membrane type intake valve: The valve operates by the deformation of the membrane to drive the valve action. It has a fast response speed and is suitable for working conditions with smaller pressure fluctuations.
