The main functions of the Atlas Copco compressor oil filter housing
As the protective carrier for the oil filter element, it provides a stable installation space for the filter element, preventing the filter element from being damaged due to fluctuations in oil pressure, mechanical vibration, etc.
It guides the lubricating oil to pass through the filter element along the preset path, ensuring thorough filtration of the oil while maintaining the sealing performance of the filtration system and preventing unfiltered oil from directly entering the lubrication circuit.
It withstands the system working pressure, usually needing to adapt to the oil pressure range during compressor operation (generally 0.5-1.5 MPa, varying by model), ensuring the safety and stability of the filtration process.
Structure and Materials
Structural Design: Mostly cylindrical or tank-like structure, equipped with oil inlet and outlet ports, filter element mounting base, sealing cover (or end cover), etc. Some models have pressure relief valves or bypass valves. When the filter element is clogged and the pressure difference is too large, the bypass oil path can be automatically opened to prevent system oil loss and protect the compressor.
Material Selection: Usually uses high-strength cast iron, aluminum alloy or engineering plastics (for specific low-pressure models), with the surface treated for corrosion resistance (such as electroplating, painting), to withstand the long-term immersion of lubricating oil and temperature changes in the system (generally -10°C to above 100°C), extending the service life.
Compatibility and Specifications
Strictly matches the models of Atlas Copco's various series of compressors (such as GA, G, SF, etc.). The oil filter housings of different models have differences in size, interface specifications (thread type, pipe diameter), and installation methods, and the corresponding accessories need to be selected based on the specific compressor model.
The original factory-designed housing is precisely matched with the filter element size to ensure sealing performance and avoid oil leakage or filter failure due to improper clearance.
