1. Core components of the Atlas Copco kit

Oil separator core: The core filtering element, usually made of high-precision glass fiber or composite materials, separates oil droplets in compressed air through interception and coagulation methods. The separation efficiency can reach over 99.9%, ensuring that the oil content in the outlet air is ≤ 3 ppm (for some models, it can be below 0.5 ppm).

Sealing ring / gasket: Used to seal the interface between the separator housing and the end cover to prevent un-separated oil and gas from leaking. The material is mostly nitrile rubber or fluororubber that is resistant to oil and high temperature.

Pressure differential indicator (some kits include): Monitors the pressure difference before and after the oil separator. When the difference exceeds the set value (usually 0.8 - 1.0 bar), it indicates that the filter element needs to be replaced.

Maintenance instruction card: Contains guidance information such as replacement cycle and installation precautions.

2. Core functions and advantages

Efficient oil-gas separation: The filter element structure designed by the original factory precisely matches the exhaust volume and pressure parameters of the air compressor, ensuring the separation effect and avoiding contamination or damage to downstream equipment (such as pneumatic components, pipelines) caused by oil-laden compressed air.

Energy saving and consumption reduction: The pressure loss of high-quality filter elements is small (initial pressure loss is usually ≤ 0.2 bar), which can reduce the additional energy consumption of the air compressor due to overcoming resistance; if the filter element is clogged and not replaced in time, the pressure loss will increase, leading to a significant increase in energy consumption.

Protecting the main unit: The recovered lubricating oil has high purity and can effectively lubricate key components such as the main rotor and bearings of the equipment, extending the equipment's lifespan.

3. Replacement and maintenance points

Replacement cycle:

Under normal operating conditions, it is recommended to replace once every 4000 - 6000 hours (specifically as per the equipment manual);

If the operating environment has a lot of dust, high humidity, or poor lubricating oil quality, the replacement cycle should be shortened.

Installation precautions:

Before replacement, the system pressure should be released to ensure safe operation;

When installing the new filter element, the internal of the separator housing should be cleaned to avoid residue of impurities;

The sealing ring should be coated with a small amount of clean lubricating oil before assembly to ensure reliable sealing and prevent air leakage.

Criteria for scrapping: In addition to replacing according to time / hours, when the pressure differential indicator shows excessive pressure loss or oil stains appear at the downstream gas usage point, it is necessary to replace immediately.

4. Selection and compatibility

It is necessary to use the Atlas Copco original kit (such as part number 1622375800, etc., specific selection should be confirmed based on the production year and model of the air compressor), non-original components may result in a decrease in separation efficiency, excessive pressure loss, and even damage to the main unit due to size mismatch and poor material quality.

For water-cooled (W) models, the oil separator kit is compatible with the same power air-cooled models, but it is necessary to pay attention to replacing it synchronously with the overall maintenance plan (such as replacing together with the oil filter, air filter, etc., as a "three-filter" kit).
