1625426100 Atlas Copco FILTER OIL FOR OIL INJECTED SCREW COMPRESSOR Original
I. Core Functions of Atlas Copco Lubricating Oil
Lubrication: Forms an oil film between the rotating components such as screw rotors and bearings, reducing direct metal friction and minimizing wear, thereby extending the lifespan of the main unit and its components.
Cooling: Absorbs the heat generated during the compression process of the compressor (the compression heat accounts for 70%-90% of the total energy consumption), and dissipates the heat through the oil cooler to maintain the temperatures of the rotors and exhaust at a safe range (typically 60-95°C).
Sealing: Fills the tiny gaps between the screw rotors and the casing, as well as between the rotors themselves, reducing air leakage and ensuring the compression capacity and volumetric efficiency of the compressor.
Noise Reduction: The oil film can buffer the vibration and air flow impact caused by the high-speed rotation of the rotors, reducing operating noise (5-10 dB lower than oil-free machines).
II. Atlas Copco, Oil Replacement and Maintenance
1. Replacement Cycle (Core Basis)
Normal operating conditions: Mineral oil should be replaced every 2,000 - 4,000 hours; Synthetic oil (such as PAO type) should be replaced every 6,000 - 12,000 hours (specifically as per the compressor manual).
Severe operating conditions: In environments with high dust and humidity (such as in the textile and chemical industries), or when operating at full load for a long time, the replacement cycle should be shortened by 30% - 50%.
2. Pre-replacement Inspection (To Determine Whether to Replace in Advance)
Observe the color of the oil: Normal is light yellow / transparent. If it turns dark brown, black, or has sediment, it must be replaced immediately.
Test the oil quality: Use an oil analyzer to test for changes in viscosity (more than the initial value ±20%), acid value (≥2.0mgKOH/g), or moisture content (≥0.1%), and replace if the results are exceeded.
Monitor system abnormalities: If there is excessive exhaust temperature (over 100°C), abnormal oil pressure, or a sudden increase in fuel consumption, it is necessary to investigate whether the oil has failed.
3. Replacement Precautions
Empty the old oil: During replacement, thoroughly empty the old oil from the oil separator, oil cooler, and oil pipelines (remaining old oil can contaminate the new oil and shorten its lifespan).
Clean the system: If the old oil has severely deteriorated (with sludge), it is necessary to rinse the oil system with dedicated cleaning oil before adding new oil.
Select compatible oil: It is mandatory to use the oil recommended by the compressor manufacturer (such as Atlas Copco's GA series dedicated oil, Ingersoll Rand's SSR dedicated oil). Mixing different brands or types of oil is prohibited (as it may cause chemical reactions and damage the oil film).
