It is usually installed after the air compressor storage tank and before or after the dryer, serving as a secondary or tertiary filtration stage.

Main components:

Filter element: The core filtering component, with different models using glass fiber, activated carbon, or multi-layer composite materials.

Sealing components: Including filter element installation sealing rings, end cover gaskets, etc., to ensure no bypass leakage during the filtration process.

Auxiliary accessories: Some kits may include排污 valve sealing rings, installation instructions, etc.

Filtration grades (reference standards):

PD series: May correspond to general-level filtration, typically capable of removing ≥1μm solid particles and oil mist, with residual oil rate ≤0.5ppm.

PDP series: May be for higher precision filtration (such as precision or ultra-precision levels), capable of removing ≥0.01μm particles, with residual oil rate ≤0.01ppm, some may include water removal function.

Features of the original factory kits

High precision filtration: The filter element uses Atlas Copco's dedicated filtration materials, achieving efficient interception through a multi-layer gradient structure, while maintaining low pressure loss (reducing energy consumption).

Material compatibility:

The filter element material is oil-resistant, temperature-resistant (adapted to the temperature changes of the compressed air system), and fibers do not easily detach, avoiding secondary pollution.

Sealing components use oil-resistant rubber (such as nitrile rubber or fluororubber), ensuring long-term reliable sealing in the compressed air pressure and humidity environment.

Matching with the filter housing: The kit size precisely fits the Atlas Copco PD/PDP series filter housing, avoiding installation difficulties or filter failure due to size deviations.

Replacement timing and maintenance precautions

Replacement signal:

The pressure difference between the filter before and after exceeds the set value (usually 0.5~0.7 bar), indicating that the filter element is clogged, and replacement is required.

Downstream equipment shows signs of oil contamination or particle contamination (such as stuck pneumatic components, oil stains on product surfaces).

Reaching the specified replacement cycle (usually 8000~12000 hours, adjusted according to working conditions and filtration grades).

Maintenance points:

Original factory parts preferred: Must use Atlas Copco's PD/PDP filter kits to ensure filtration accuracy and sealing performance. Sub-factory parts may not meet the filtration effect due to material or size issues.

Installation specifications:

Before replacement, close the valves before and after the filter to release internal pressure, ensuring safe operation.

Clean the internal of the filter housing, remove residual impurities, and check if the sealing surfaces are intact.

The sealing ring of the new filter element needs to be correctly installed. If necessary, apply a small amount of clean silicone grease (non-oil-based) to enhance sealing performance, and tighten the end cover with the specified torque.
