Atlas Copco Metal Air Compressor Spare Parts 1089065957 Transducer Pressure Sensor

Main function

Pressure regulation

Controls the exhaust pressure of the air compressor based on the set value, ensuring that the output pressure remains stable within the required range (such as 0.7-0.8 MPa), avoiding excessive or insufficient pressure that may affect the normal operation of the gas-using equipment.

Automatic start-stop / Load-unload

When the system pressure reaches the upper limit, the pressure valve triggers the air compressor to enter the unloading state (stopping the intake but allowing the motor to spin); when the pressure drops to the lower limit, it switches back to the loading state (restoring the intake compression), achieving energy-saving operation.

Safety protection

Some pressure valves integrate overpressure protection functions. When the system pressure exceeds the safety threshold, the automatic pressure relief channel is opened to prevent equipment from being damaged due to overpressure or causing safety accidents.

Common types

Pressure switch: Controlled by mechanical or electronic sensing to start or stop the air compressor, with a simple structure, suitable for small piston-type air compressors.

Pressure regulator: A more precise valve structure that can be manually set to the pressure range, often used for the intake valve control of screw-type air compressors.

Safety valve: As the ultimate protection device, it forcibly releases pressure when the system pressure exceeds the abnormal limit, and is a necessary safety component for pressure vessels. Working principle

The pressure valve responds by sensing the pressure signal within the system (such as the pressure of compressed air) and comparing it with the preset value:

When the pressure is lower than the set value, the valve opens or triggers the loading mechanism, allowing air to enter the compression chamber;

When the pressure reaches the set value, the valve closes or triggers the unloading mechanism, stopping the intake of air and possibly opening the vent channel to release excess pressure.

Common faults and maintenance:

Pressure instability: This may be caused by fatigue of the spring inside the valve, wear of the valve core, or the presence of impurities causing blockage. It is necessary to disassemble and clean, and replace the worn components.

Unable to release pressure or overpressure: Failure of the safety valve may pose a danger. Regular calibration (usually once a year) is required to ensure the accurate action pressure.

Leakage: Aging of the sealing components or damage to the valve body can lead to air leakage. Sealing rings should be replaced in time or the valve body repaired.
