1092002335 Atlas Copco air compressor OIL FILTER HOUSING Original
I. Main Functions of Atlas Copco Air Compressor Oil Filter Housing
Structural Support: Fixed the filter element and formed a sealed filtering chamber to ensure that the lubricating oil can only be filtered through the filter element.
Pressure Bearing: Can withstand the working pressure of the lubricating oil circulation system (usually 0.4 - 1.0 MPa), preventing the shell from cracking due to excessively high oil pressure.
Oil Flow Guidance: Through the internal flow channel design, guides the oil to evenly enter the filter element, avoiding short circuits or uneven flow, and ensuring the filtering efficiency.
Sealing Protection: Combined with the end cover or connecting components to form a seal, preventing unfiltered oil from leaking or filtered oil from being contaminated again.
II. Materials and Manufacturing of Atlas Copco Air Compressor Oil Filter Housing
Common Materials
Mostly use cast iron (such as HT200) or aluminum alloy: Cast iron has high strength and low cost, suitable for high-pressure conditions; aluminum alloy is lightweight and has good heat dissipation, mostly used in small and medium-sized compressors.
Some high-end models use engineering plastics (reinforced nylon): Strong corrosion resistance, but only applicable to low-pressure systems (≤ 0.6 MPa). Manufacturing process
Cast iron housing: It is made by sand casting or precision casting, and the inner wall is machined to ensure the accuracy of the sealing surface.
Aluminum alloy housing: It is mostly formed by die casting, and the surface is treated with anodizing to enhance corrosion resistance.
Key parts (such as the sealing surface and threaded interfaces) need to be precisely machined to ensure the fit tolerance (usually IT7-IT9 grade).
III. Key points of Atlas Copco air compressor oil filter housing structure design
Inlet and outlet interfaces
They are usually threaded connections (such as G1/2, G3/4) or flange connections, and the interface direction is designed according to the pipeline layout of the unit (radial or axial), and an interference fit or O-ring groove is provided inside to achieve sealing.
Filter element installation structure
Internal positioning pins or snap fasteners are used to ensure the accurate installation of the filter element and its alignment with the sealing surface of the housing.
Some designs include springs or retaining covers to compress the filter element to prevent it from loosening under oil pressure shock.
Integral bypass valve
Most housings are reserved for bypass valve installation holes, and a spring-type bypass valve (opening pressure 0.3-0.5 MPa) is internally installed, forming a pressure difference sensing channel with the filter element inlet and outlet.
Strength design
The wall thickness of the housing is calculated based on the working pressure (usually 3-8 mm), and rounded corners are used at the corners to avoid stress concentration.
High-pressure models need to undergo a hydraulic test (1.5 times the working pressure, maintaining pressure for 30 minutes without leakage).
IV. Common problems and maintenance of Atlas Copco air compressor oil filter housing
Treatment: Replace the sealing element, regrind the sealing surface, tighten according to the specified torque; if the housing is deformed, replace it as a whole.
Cracks or ruptures
Reasons: Overpressure operation (such as failure of the bypass valve), material defects, uneven force during installation (such as forcibly screwing into the pipeline).
Treatment: Immediately stop the machine and replace the housing, investigate the cause of overpressure (such as system blockage, safety valve failure).
Internal rusting
Reasons: Long-term lack of lubricant replacement leads to corrosion by acidic substances, or no rust prevention treatment was performed inside the housing.
Treatment: Clean the rusted area, replace with compliant standard lubricant; if severely rusted, replace the housing.
