The air compressor pressure sensor is for installation and maintenance.
Installation location: It is usually installed at the outlet of the storage tank, the exhaust port of the compressor, or on the main pipeline to ensure that the sensor can accurately reflect the system pressure and avoid direct exposure to high temperatures, oil stains, or severe vibrations.
Regular calibration: To ensure measurement accuracy, the sensor should be calibrated regularly (generally once or twice a year) to prevent control failure due to drift.
Daily inspection: Check if the sensor wiring is loose and the seal is good to avoid affecting measurement accuracy due to air leakage or poor contact; if any abnormal display or no signal output is found for the sensor, it is necessary to promptly troubleshoot the fault or replace it.
The main functions of the air compressor pressure sensor
Pressure monitoring and display: Real-time detection of gas pressure in the storage tank, pipeline or compressor unit. The current pressure value is displayed through the instrument panel or control system, facilitating the operators to grasp the operating status of the equipment.
Pressure control and protection: When the pressure reaches the set upper limit, the sensor sends a signal to the control system, causing the air compressor to automatically stop or unload to avoid overpressure operation; when the pressure drops to the set lower limit, it triggers the air compressor to restart or load, ensuring the output pressure remains within the set range.
System optimization operation: Cooperating with the control system to achieve intelligent control of the air compressor such as frequency conversion regulation and multi-machine linkage, reducing energy waste and improving operational efficiency.
Common types
Strain gauge pressure sensor: Utilizes the resistance change of metal strain gauges under pressure to measure pressure. It has high accuracy and is suitable for medium and high-pressure applications.
Capacitive pressure sensor: Detects pressure by changing the spacing or area of the capacitor plates. It has a fast response speed and strong anti-interference ability, suitable for high-precision control.
Piezoelectric pressure sensor: Works based on the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric materials. It has good dynamic response, but is not suitable for static pressure measurement. It is mostly used for instantaneous pressure monitoring.
