Filter element:
The core filtering component, usually made of materials such as filter paper, glass fiber or metal mesh, intercepting impurities through a porous structure.
Depending on the filtration accuracy, it can be divided into coarse filtration and fine filtration, respectively filtering different-sized pollutants.
Shell / Housing:
The metal or plastic shell that protects the filter element, usually designed as a sealed structure to ensure that the engine oil passes through the filter element for filtration completely.
Some shells have threads or snap fasteners, making installation and replacement of the filter element convenient.
Sealing ring / Gasket:
Located at the connection between the shell and the base, it prevents oil leakage and ensures the sealing of the filtration system.
The material is mostly rubber or nitrile rubber, with the characteristics of being oil-resistant and heat-resistant.
Shunt valve (Safety valve):
When the filter element is clogged or the resistance of the oil flow is too high, the shunt valve will automatically open, allowing unfiltered oil to pass directly, avoiding equipment damage due to interruption of oil supply.
It is an important emergency device to ensure system safety.
Check valve (for some models):
Prevents oil backflow when the engine is stopped, ensuring that the lubrication system can quickly establish oil pressure upon next startup, reducing cold start wear.
Base / Interface:
The component connecting the filter and the oil pipeline, usually having an oil inlet and an oil outlet, allowing the oil to flow along the designated path.
Maintenance points:
The filter element needs to be replaced regularly (according to the user manual or operating time), to avoid affecting the filtration effect or triggering the shunt valve after clogging.
When replacing, check if the sealing ring is intact, and replace it if necessary to prevent leakage.
When installing, pay attention to cleaning the sealing surface to avoid impurities mixing into the lubrication system.
