Key Points for Installation and Maintenance of Common Ball Bearings in Atlas Copco Air Compressors Installation
Strict alignment and clean assembly to avoid damage to the raceways and cage caused by knocking.
The dimensions and surface roughness of the shaft neck and seat hole must meet the standards; the interference fit should be controlled within the recommended range.
Fasten the end cover / locking nut with the specified torque to prevent axial movement.
Lubrication and sealing
Select the lubricating grease according to the manual and control the filling amount; for variable frequency motors, pay attention to the suppression of bearing current and grounding / insulation measures.
Install the lip seal / labyrinth seal in place to prevent oil or dust from entering.
Monitoring and replacement
Pay attention to vibration, temperature and noise; replace the bearings when the rolling elements / raceways peel off, the cage is damaged, or the lubricating grease deteriorates.
Common temperature limits for motor bearings: the outer ring ≤ 95℃; for every 15℃ increase in temperature, the life of the lubricating grease is approximately halved, and the cause of the temperature rise should be promptly investigated.
