The main functions of Atlas Copco's smallest pressure valve

Establishing the minimum system pressure: After the compressor starts, the minimum pressure valve remains closed until the system pressure reaches the set value (usually 0.4-0.6 MPa, varying by model) before it automatically opens to ensure that sufficient circulation pressure of the compressor's internal lubricating oil can be formed, fully lubricating the bearings, rotors and other core components, and avoiding poor lubrication due to insufficient pressure.

Preventing reverse flow of compressed air: When the compressor stops, the minimum pressure valve closes rapidly, preventing the compressed air from the storage tank or downstream system from flowing back to the compressor main unit, protecting the main unit from reverse airflow impact, while maintaining the residual pressure in the system, facilitating the next startup.

Stabilizing the efficiency of the oil-gas separator: By maintaining the pressure stability in the oil-gas separator, ensuring the oil-gas separation effect (low pressure will lead to a decrease in separation efficiency and increased oil loss), reducing the oil content in the compressed air, and ensuring the quality of the compressed air.

Structure and working principle

Structural composition: It mainly consists of a valve body, valve core (piston type or diaphragm type), spring, sealing ring, etc. The valve core is controlled by system pressure and spring force.

Working process: At the beginning of startup, the system pressure is lower than the set value. The spring force pushes the valve core closed; when the pressure rises to the set value, the gas pressure overcomes the spring force, the valve core opens, and the compressed air enters the downstream system; after shutdown, the system pressure drops, the spring force pushes the valve core to reset and close, achieving the backflow function.

Performance characteristics

Precise control: The pressure setting of the original factory's smallest pressure valve has been strictly calibrated to ensure precise opening and closing pressures, suitable for the working requirements of different models of compressors (such as GA, G series, etc.).

Durable and reliable: The valve body is made of high-strength cast iron or aluminum alloy, and the internal sealing components use oil-resistant and temperature-resistant materials (such as nitrile rubber), capable of withstanding the high temperature (usually ≤ 100°C) and pressure fluctuations of the compressor during long-term operation, with a long service life.

Low flow resistance design: The valve core and flow path have been optimized, with low resistance after opening, reducing pressure loss and ensuring the exhaust efficiency of the compressor.
