Atlas Copco's GA and GX series air compressors recommend the use of their original factory-specific lubricants. The main ones are:
VSD Ultra coolant: Suitable for oil-injected screw air compressors, especially those equipped with VSD technology. It has excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance, and the oil change cycle is long (typically up to 8,000 - 16,000 hours, depending on the operating conditions).
Compressor Oil 46: A traditional mineral oil-based lubricant suitable for non-VSD standard operating condition models. The oil change cycle is relatively short (generally 4,000 - 8,000 hours).
The original lubricants have undergone strict testing and are compatible with the internal components of the equipment, effectively reducing wear, preventing carbon deposits, and adapting to the high-temperature and high-pressure environment of the air compressor.
2. The functions of the lubricants
Lubrication: Reduces friction and wear of moving parts such as screws and bearings.
Sealing: Enhances the sealing between the screw and the chamber, improving compression efficiency.
Cooling: Absorbs the heat generated during compression, helping the equipment to cool down.
Anti-rust and anti-corrosion: Protects metal components from corrosion.
